Renee says: “When I first started incorporating buttons into my creations, they were almost always vintage buttons. But one day while in Paris, a button collector showed me her stash of Antique buttons. To say I was smitten, is an understatement! I soon came to understand & appreciate these are rare & unique treasures from a by gone era. The button in this piece is a WW II French Uniform button-Air Force wings with star. The button was originally a silver/pewter colour, which I “Colour Washed” in shades of deep red & green. I then burnished back the colours, to achieve a lovely patina. The lustrous white fresh water pearl adds the perfect touch of class & elegance.
